summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The Development Services Department has prepared a text amendment to Chapter 155 seeking to amend the minimum parking requirement for multi-family residential developments within the Community Redevelopment Areas (CRAs) as well as require guest parking city-wide for multi-family developments. The City’s current regulations only require guest parking for townhouse developments.  Additionally, recent projects have illustrated that there are parking reductions within the Community Redevelopment Agency districts that could allow fewer than one parking space per unit. These changes seek to increase the parking regulations to require more guest parking and a minimum of 1 parking space per unit.  This code amendment was presented to the Planning & Zoning Board on June 28, 2023, and received a unanimous recommendation of approval.
