Summary Explanation/Background:

Invitation to Bid (ITB) E-16-23 was issued to obtain bids to establish a contract for renovation of Lift Station #61, which is located at 2000 SE 5th Court, Pompano Beach, FL 33060. Lift Station #61 receives sanitary flow from gravity sewer service areas along with 2 small lift stations (Lift Station #60 and Lift Station #63). The existing configuration of Lift Station #61 includes a subsurface dry pit and adjacent subsurface sanitary wet-well below an enclosed concrete building structure, which was last rehabilitated in the year 2000. The rehabilitation of Lift Station #61 includes updating the electrical instrumentation and controls, and replacing the mechanical room pump motors and associated hardware.  Bid award is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Southern Underground Industries, Inc., at a cost of $3,425,335.00.  The General Services Department notified eleven (11) local underground utility companies to inform them about this project.  City Commission approval of this contract award is requested.
