summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

FPL’s utility pole hardening project overlapped with the City’s overhead to undergrounding conversion project along A1A, and as a result we had to adapt to keep the overall intent of the aesthetics along A1A corridor.  In order to have several existing concrete poles removed from the intersection of A1A and NE 16th St, a redesign through FPL was required along with new FPL ground mounted equipment to be installed by Burkhardt Construction.  The cost for this change order is $352,708.56 and represents 6 % of the overall undergrounding contract which includes redesign, equipment and installation.
