Summary Explanation/Background:
All municipalities in Florida are required by law to provide and compensate defense counsel who represent indigent persons arrested and held in-custody for charges related to municipal ordinance violations. Previously, the City Commission approved an agreement with The Law Offices of Steven Schaet, who has provided excellent service to the City and Defendants, including appearance at weekend and holiday bond hearings as required. This agreement will update the terms and conditions and provide for a flat rate of pay for the outside counsel to $150.00 for all appearances.
